Well, in this materialistic world a simple compliment of "job well done" will not be able to get us anywhere and move on to survive and achieve our material goals. Definitely it will never be able to compensate the efforts and time we have put to have the work done. Work can be mentally devastating at times especially when the works of 5 persons to be handled by one. Where is the motivation? Where is the entitlement we should be getting?

No group gathering announcement yet, haven't really done much shopping for my own new year clothes, not really expecting those CNY junk food.

All shopping centres, shops, radio, etc., blasting the same remixed CNY songs.

I really kinda find them annoying every year.

Same songs, but probably just different singers.

Honestly I would really prefer the CNY oldies more than the nowadays hip-hop-pop-rock-crappie-whatever remixed version.

I really got fed-up until I found this. So far it's the only one I like..

I have a waiter on-duty in his smart uniform in my well-known restaurant in KL. He was serving a bad-tempered patron who just gave him a hard time. My waiter spitted on the food before serving it to the bad-tempered patron. Another patron, Sam saw my waiter. And caught him on video. Sam uploaded the video to the internet. I found the video. And certainly am not happy about it. I posted a clear message on all major newspapers. Telling everyone it is not my restaurant. Whoever can't read a word on the newspaper, also can easily recognize my waiter's smart uniform. Damn that bastard. I must take stern action on the responsibility of Sam for tarnishing my restaurant image to serve as a lesson to others. It shows how low that bastard's moral and mentality is for using websites as platforms to spread lies and tarnish the image of those he dislikes. Welcome to my "restaurant".

Just came back from the one and only cinema that's not dubbing the original voices of the movies into Vietnamese in Hanoi. And here I am doing my first movie review. Hope it's not the last. "Transformers" is a great movie, which I'm bet there's a never ending movie-reviews on it. In fact I watched twice in the cinema. So beat it. As for "Up", it is not the kind of movie everyone might think of watching in the first place, which the case really happened to me tonight as we were initially planning for "Harry Potter" instead but it was full-housed. Well, I don't know if I am to call that unfortunately, or fortunately as I really love "Up". Anyway, the story is about an old man fulfilling his life-long adventure-dream. Read the original review here. What I can say about this movie, is it has a sweet start, a surprisingly excellent climax, and a hilarious ending. Out of 10, I'm giving it 8.2 points. It's a highly recommended from me. CheeRz~

Two or three years back, I picked up a hobby.

Yes, tarot.

Back then, I studied it on myself. Once a while I would take my friends as my "specimen".

But after coming to Laos, although I do bring the cards here, somehow the hobby seems to have dropped. Maybe I haven't really fully understand all the cards whereas it's nowhere to find any books on this hobby here at all.

Well, I fell in love with it, palmistry, fengshui, etc... is not because I am superstitious, but it's a way for me to fully find out who I am, understand the person in me who I sometimes don't understand at all.

Oh well, I suppose while I'm trying to understand myself, but get to understand other people as well. But, I must afraid to admit that...

Understanding ourselves is harder than to understand one else.

Here in Laos, this morning I had a seminar with a multinational company on our construction material. During the tea break, we got engaged into a conversation with one of the company representatives, who is from India. Big Foot found in Sarawak?

Ain't it cool? The Big Giant Ape is actually in Sarawak as reported in Borneo Post today.

They have swam from Johor to our shore after knowing what the Johor Government had in mind three years ago.... that is to be become paparazzi to their private lifes.

But then again, they miss Lahad Datu and Kuching and went straight to Daro, a town in the central part of Sarawak.

I don't really know should I, or should I not believe the news.

The foot print, could be man-made afterall. Unless the ground as shown in the photo is hard, or else the print could have left a deeper mark since the ape is soooooooooooo huge and could weight more than 300kg... or more, who knows, right?

Well I'm not the judge, nor zoologist, nor bigFOOLogist, nor wadever you call it.

Anyway, it could have made the headline in Borneo Post, or maybe even The Star and other newspapers tomorrow. But I won't recommend the Big Foot specialist or rather, hunters to dropby Sarawak to pay our new friend a visit.

Why?

We already have one in our Dewan Rakyat liao wad... He got a big monkey companion some more. So why susah susah when we already have one standing there enterntaining us?

Well, back in Malaysia today's a holiday.

But then many have to lock themselves at home.

Why?

For one full tank of petrol we used to fill about RM60 to RM70. Now, we have to pay RM100 for it.

So, folks... better don't eat over the weekend also la.

Save the money to feed our car so we can buy the food on Monday when we go to work again...

Soon enough, when the price of food goes up, we should perhaps just sell off our cars anyway...

Why... and a very big WHY do we oil-riched Sarawakian have to suffer too? We don't get the same development in the west, but we share the same shit CRAP fucking Government.

Uniqueness of a "kite"...

Loving couples once a while would have little arguements along the path they are moving on.

Sometimes, should they be asked about their relationship, this maybe the answer :
"Our relationship is great. But......"

This is the time when "but" surfaced.

What I'm trying to say is... having this "but" is not necessary a bad thing nor approach-ending of a relationship. In fact, nobody should ever worry about it at all. Yes, "but" can be painful sometimes. Tears can even be dropped. Hearts are cracked by the statement after this unpleasant word.

If everything, every steps we're taking to move ahead with our lives is so beautiful without any barrier, arguements, or fights, it's going to be perfect and dream of everyone, right?

Then again, guys and gals, think....yes, THINK hard and positive.

A love life without "but", is vulnerable to the outside influnce. Couples of the such "perfect" relationship will never fall in the the session of thinking and solving for the "but".

Without "but", there may be one corner of our hearts and life that will forever be uncovered and understood.

While visiting kennysia.com this morning, I came to read an interesting linked-entry from quaintly.net on how to save a turtle.

I must say, I am impressed with the posting and hope I can lend a hand by at least do the minimum by sending a simple donation to WWF Malaysia, but I'm oversea... sienz le.

When I was reading on the Malaysian NEP in wikipedia, I came across this statement...

At the UMNO General Assembly that year, Education Minister and UMNO Youth Chief Hishamuddin Hussein quoted a local study indicating that at current rates, it would take the Malays "120 years to achieve income parity". He also cited a 2004 statistic indicating that for every RM1 earned by a Malay, a Chinese earned RM1.64 as evidence that the income gap had not been eliminated. The Deputy Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, proposed increasing the target "quota" if non-Malays continued to allege that the 30% target had been met, as "By any yardstick, the Malays are still left behind"

I suppose the Mat Rempit supporter and the infamous Keris Waver, need to do some mathematics.

The population of Malaysia as on February 2007 is 26.6 million consisting of 62% Malays, 24% Chinese, 8% Indians, with other minorities.

So lets take assumption of there are 62 Malays and 24 Chinese as easier for reference.

If he is right about the earning ratio between Malay and Chinese, then it should be showing something like...

62 Malay x RM1.00 = RM62.00
24 Chinese x RM1.64 = RM39.36

As mentioned above.... he's the Education Minister.

If they are to compare by races, heck... income for Chinese are actually less than Malay.

Not to mention our Indian friends some more.

And since there are so many Malay, how come they are not able to earn more than Chinese? There are more job opportunities created for them by NEP wad.

But as I understand, majority of the Malay are not enjoying such benefit at all. Only those minority-"linked" are entitled for them.

Clearly there is something amiss.

But then, I thought Malaysia is for Malaysian regardless race? Why must all these stupid bastards set rules and policies regarding races? Why can't we just go alone and develope as Malaysian rather than based on race?

Crap...

Racial tension in the country is almost at peak already, especially after the Hindraf issue late last year.

The Malaysian G-People crosses the line too much. They marginized all races' equity and rights while the benefits fall into one "group" of people.

Hope we can see some positive effects after the 8 March 2008 political tsunami.

After reunion dinner on sa-chap-meh (lunar 30th day before CNY), got to bring my little little relatives go play and see fireworks...

Got to hang around with family and friends in Kuching to feel and enjoy the homey CNY feel...

And got the see my 2 lovely babies dozed off after a tiring day of house visiting...

My Christmas, New Year and CNY in Laos...

I celebrated my Christmas 2007 by myself in Vientiane...

Can't find any celebration here other the one and only church just right outside my place. But i didn't join the function there.

I was at home. Pity me even had to turn on the motion box to the Australian channel for the Chapel event with choirs singing Christmas songs to feel the Christmas atmosphere.

Then... 31 December 2007.

I countdown with me and myself on 2008 New Year Eve.

It's pretty quiet in Vientiane on New Year Eve.

But it wasn't that bad at all. I went to Joma, had a simple pizza meal there with a strawberry shake.

And tabao two more slices back. Which one ended up as my supper that night.

Did I forgot to say, they are 50% off after 8pm? Hahaha...yes, they are and damn cheap.

Only 9,000kip (RM3.30) per slice. And they taste not bad at all.

Happy New Year, Happy 2008.....well, ok, it's a super-belated greeting anyway.

There on first day of 2008, I cooked myself a nice plate of spicy spaghetti for lunch.

In case you're wondering what's that yucky drink I made...

Yeah..I know. It looks gross. Apa la macam....macam...errr....me also donno.

Anyway, it's my rich cream latte....to be exact, ice cream latte...hehe.

It looks horrible like a puke, but the taste I tell you oh....not bad de le...haha.

Oh well...Celebrating my first ever oversea Christmas and New Year still ok de lo.

Now, today already lunar month 12, day 30.

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year already.

And here I am in Laos again, not going back until Chap Goh Mei (lunar day 15).

There's no holiday nor celebration here since Chinese here are just like 2 or 3 few kittens nia.

Sure everyone will ask how I can do that... pity me.

Actually, I already had preparation for not going home for CNY since a couple of months before. So, lets just say, I'm well prepared for it and I'm ok to deal with it, though, sadly.

But hey....CNY here still not that bad la. At least I've got something to accompany me, something to create the CNY atmosphere here.

Hahaha...

See, I told you guys it's not that bad ma.

The feng-shui spoiler at least still got its advantage during times like now.

By the way, I got my monkey to accompany me pun.

Isn't he ugly? No no, I mean...cool. Isn't he cool?

Haha...

Oh well..... I wonder how will I feel tomorrow, so far away from home, from family, from friends first time for CNY.

One thing I'm sure no matter what.....

Thaipusam 2008, the G-Side Effect...

Another joke of the day. Okay...it should be a few days ago punya....hehe.

In the Indian's recent annual festival, the Thaipusam, hundred thousands community Indian will turn-up at Batu Caves for prayers every year.

With visitors for the colourful event, the number can be up to over million.

However, there's seems something amiss and indifferent this year.

The number has gone down drastically to just merely a few tens thousand.

The MIC president (U-Noe-Who) said everything went on as usual and the turnout was about the same as last year.
“More than a million people are expected to be here but they will come at different times,” he added. (as reported in The Star)

"I have come to Thaipusam since I was 11 years old. I know the crowd. It is the same as before," he (U-Noe-Who) told reporters at Batu Caves. (as reported in Yahoo! Asia News)

But then again...

Stallholders and devotees lamented the small turnout and said ethnic Indians should work together to promote their cause.

"The crowd is normally double or triple this size. Now it's so small, so there is not so much of a great mood this time," said N. Kumaran, 41, a civil servant who has taken part in the festival for the past 14 years. (as reported in Yahoo! Asia News)

I wonder is the U-Noe-Who blind, or did he really go Batu Caves for Thaipusam since "he was 11 years old". So who to believe, the U-Noe-Who, or the public? You be the judge.

And here's another add-on joke before I close this topic.

In the latest protest by Coalition Against Inflation (Protes) against the rising prices of fuel and other essential items yesterday at KLCC, then again, the G-People denied permit for the gathering for whatever excuse they can come up with again.

Roadblocks were even started to set up as early as Friday...walao eh.

Fine, so as it went on.

And news for today... 56 held for attending illegal protest rally as reported in The Star.

Probably you'll see the headlines of the newspaper tomorrow saying the few of the 56 either being released over warnings, or detained for questions over something about trying to sabotage the Government right before the coming election.

Anyway, that's the news for tomorrow. As for today, well, there is apparently that somebody eat-full-full-nothing-do there really got nothing to do and this is what happened.

Malaysiakini journalist Syed Jamal Zahiid was detained for “asking too many questions”. According to Jamal, all he had asked was on what grounds were the police arresting people. (as reported in The Star)

Mother Nature & Mankind

Well, of course those who knows me well enough will know where I am, what I'm doing here.

Anyway for those who doesn't, or any friendly visitors....hello and welcome. I'm in Laos, working as a Quantity Surveyor for the construction of a hydropower dam.

Yea..that's right, construction of a hydropower dam.

Mannn...isn't this a work of the destruction of our beloved Mother Nature?

Come to think of it, I kinda hate it lo.

Mother Nature granted for us a lovely planet to live, to survive.

But it's through destruction that we are showing our appreciation.

Somehow to think positively, we live our lifes by improving our day by day lifestyles for the next and future generations, right?

Sad to say, sometimes unavoidable sacrifices must be done in order for that to work out.

All we can do it try to minimise them.

However, by litering around certainly is not a good start and it certainly CAN BE avoided. We need more civilised people around to do that....probably.

But then again, some cultures just can't live healthily for the sake of Mankind even if we have got a perfect world to live in.

Yes, beer...alcohol.

Some cultures, days and nights, adults or kids as young as 7 years old, consume this mind-backward-thinking killer everyday.

Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy hanging out in pubs once a while, with limited drinks of course. But certainly not for breakfast, lunch and dinner as one of the must-have dish wad.

Siao eh...The more we drink, the shorter our lifespan will be.

I'm not directing this entry to anyone, but everyone of us should be self-conscious a bit all the time la. Alcohol should be consume within control.

Crap... I don't know what's the point of this blog anyway...wakaka. Whatever la. My conclusion...lets love our Mother Nature and Mankind as so they may last forever.

Is it a dream, or stress?

I had a similar dream quite long time ago and it's still clearly visioning in my mind now.

This is how the dream is like...

I was laying on my bed. Then just out of sudden I started to float as if I was to go off to somewhere. But I grabbed hold on to the rail of the bed tightly, not wanting to let go. I was afraid... afraid of if I ever let go, I may not come back again. And by that probably not going to wake up anymore.

After waking up, it didn't feel good at all.

And...this is NOT a made-up story.

I had this same dream not only for one time, but several times.

It was all the same, and repeating.

But after the last time, which probably was like 6 or 7 years ago, or maybe longer which I'm also not sure, I did thought of trying to let go one time in the dream to see what's going to happen.

Until now, I never have that dream again.

Weird? It sure is. But true, so is it...

But then again, most probably I'll take it as a stress symptom. Even if I am ever going to have this dream again, one thing for sure...I'm not letting go that easy. This is just not my attitude...wahahaha.

I always wanted to do a research on this topic. But it's either didn't came across my mind when I'm online, or it's still didn't came across my mind....wakaka, what the heck.

Anyway...here are them...

It is inappropriate to ask for a doggy bag when you are a guest. Save the doggy bag for informal dining situations.

It is best to order foods that can be eaten with a knife and fork. Finger foods can be messy and are best left for informal dining.

Do not order alcoholic beverages. Drinking too much when dining out is one of the most disliked behaviors.

Do not smoke while dining out.

Sit up straight at the table. It makes a good impression.

When you are not eating, keep your hands on your lap or resting on the table (with wrists on the edge of the table). Elbows on the table are acceptable only between courses, not while you are eating.

Do not season your food before you have tasted it.

Never chew with your mouth open or make loud noises when you eat. Although it is possible to talk with a small piece of food in your mouth, do not talk with your mouth full.

Do not slurp soup from a spoon. Spoon the soup away from you when you take it out of the bowl and sip it from the side of the spoon. If your soup is too hot to eat, let it sit until it cools; do not blow on it.

If food gets caught between your teeth and you can't remove it with your tongue, leave the table and go to a mirror where you can remove the food from your teeth in private.

Eat rolls or bread by tearing off small bite size pieces and buttering only the piece you are preparing to eat. When ready for another piece, repeat the same process.

Engage in table conversation that is pleasant but entirely free of controversial subjects.

You should not leave the table during the meal except in an emergency. If you must go to the bathroom or if you suddenly become sick, simply excuse yourself. Later you can apologize to the host by saying that you didn't feel well.

If you need something that you cannot reach easily, politely ask the person closest to the item you need to pass it to you. For example, "After you have used them yourself, would you please pass me the salt and pepper?"

If a piece of your silverware falls onto the floor, pick it up if you can reach it and let the server know you need a clean one. If you cannot reach it, tell the server you dropped a piece of your silverware and ask for a clean one.

If you or someone you are dining with is left-handed, it is best for the left-handed person to sit at the left end of the table or at the head of the table. This arrangement helps ensure that everyone has adequate elbow room to eat comfortably.

If food spills off your plate, you may pick it up with a piece of your silverware and place it on the edge of your plate.

Never spit a piece of bad food or tough gristle into your napkin. Remove the food from your mouth using the same utensil it went in with. Place the piece of food on the edge of your plate. If possible, cover it with some other food from your plate.

So guys, do watch out your manners wherever and whenever you are. Malaysians are just too rude in their manners badly, sorry to say...

I guess it's almost one month since I last blog.

Well, I went back to Malaysia for 18 days in between anyway.

And took the first Air Asia flight out of Laos....hohoho.

Some of you may ask, or may soon ask, but I'll answer it first.

Ya, memang got a little hao lien lo...Wakakaka.

Asia Asia has actually help us to save up the 4 hours transit time in Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.

It also helps us save the expensive meals our ego wants....hahahaha.

And also...no more far far gates in between in KLIA.

But still, occasionally I will still prefer Thai Airway more to Air Asia.

I'm having a very tiring Christmas today. No holiday here...sienz. Anyway folks, I hereby wish everyone....

Several months ago, I lost froggie.

It has accompanied me for more than 1 year.

Everywhere I went, it was there with me.

But anyhow, I lost it in the street of Vientiane....with no intention to look for it back.

I somehow thought I need a new little travel companion.

Vientiane is no shopping paradise. The only shopping centre here is Talat Sao Mall (Morning Market Mall).

So I had to sought from other shopping complexes outside Vientiane, or rather... out of Laos.

So I went to Udon Thani, over the Thailand northern border.

Well, I thought I can find my new travel companion out of either; a new froggie, a piggy, or a monkey.

The froggie and piggy I saw, do not seem out of ordinary.

Then I remembered, RuiYi told me one thing before I went...

Get the ugliest monkey that you see on the shelf, so ugly that you may even consider of leaving it behind the paying-counter after you paid of it...

I guess after I paid of it, I forget to leave it behind...huh.

Ok, fine...it's a gorilla, so what? But it's still in the monkey family, right? SO it's still a MONKEY!!! hehe.. bluecKzz~

Marshmallow Unsafe to Eat

Introducing Euro Marshmallow Filled with Blueberry Jam...

Oh yea...that's right. It does look nice and yummy.

This is a product of Thailand, probably with the standard of European as judged by the manufacturer's name.

In fact, it is nice to chew just like any other marshmallow.

But what happens when you bite into something like....

THIS???!??

OMG... it was a tiny bit of rubber, kinda like the material of a balloon.

Glucose syrup, sugar, gelatin, pectin, furit juice, citric acid, artificial colour and flavour. I don't think i see any 'rubber' in the ingredient.

To my thought, that should be how marshmellow are made.....with RUBBER. That is why it's so flexible and smooth.

Go ahead, do the experiment yourself. Get a balloon and pull it, scratch it. Then get yourself some marshmallow and do the same. You can see the similarity.

Folks, stop eating marshmellow as I will suggest. I wonder are there any warning of health hazzard against eating of marshmellow.

Then again...it's probably just this particular manufacturer's secret recipe.

So what can I say? Thailand goods = China goods = NO QUALITY/HEALTH CONTROL

And, it's better to stop eating marshmallow ever again. I definitely will never buy any marshmallow for my baby gals.

Shit....before I bite into this bit of rubber, I have already taken 3 or 4 packets of this marshmallow. I kinda felt like....I had a condom stuck in my throat and stomach on that day before lunch....

Malaysia's Space Programme, Part II - CRAP..

Hmm....forget about the stupid space program. I'm not in the mood to post in anymore.

It's just plain dull and nonsense that the stupid Government trying to get publicity for. Even buyng the spacecraft that carry our Angkasawan into the space? (Damn...I had the link, but deleted it. Now I can't find it anymore)

My conclusion for it is just.......congratulations for our Angkasawan for being the first Malaysian space-participant.

2 Weeks about my blablabla...

Hhm....just realised I haven't blog for more than 2 weeks.

For the past 2 weeks....hhm...what actually have I done...lets see.

27th October was actually a local festival, the Boat Racing Festival, aka Boun Ok Phansa (sorry folks, can't find a better link to it since no Laotian actually promoting themselves). The night before we dropped by one of the street in Vientiane along Mekong River for the week...or was it weeks long fair.

(Paiseh ya, my lousy camera is not good in catching night shots...blueckz~)

Walao eh...really people mountain people sea le. Macam the whole population of Vientiane gathering there since there is no night life else where liao.

Erm...no, those blue blue red red yellow yellow one are not how laotians look like. Sorry la, lousy camera effect...hehe. Look below, though this was not the crowded most. By crowded, I mean like you can't even stand still on your spot. People will just push you around. You don't even get a space to breath gok...and don't expect me to take photo in that situation...wakaka.

Anyway, I didn't get to take any photo of the actual boat-racing festival.

That very morning we went to Udon Thani, over the border of Thailand over the weekend for a 3-days break to feel the life of a more developed town out of Vientiane, or rather to be specified, out of Laos.

Nothing much to talk about Udon Thani anyway. Life in KL is much much greater than there...hehe. Maybe just, finally had my long-missed KFC, some nice western @ Sizzler and ice-cream @ Swesens lo. And some shoppings.

Ok, back from Udon. To my suprise I actually got a fan shouting for more post from me....Geezzz....thanx. He's probably my one and only fan. Anyway, I love ya, Tchii....baru weird.....wakaka. Anyway, I know I got loyal reader who says my blog is boring but still reads it de...wahahaha...blueckz~

Having come here for 6 months already, last Friday was only the second time I have gone to the site.

Yes, the scenery there is quite nice there actually. But that will be in my next next post.

Erm...what else. Peepz, I got my air tickets for my second home trip confirmed last week. I will be going back in December...yea. Tickets back Kuching punya also buy already. As for now, I am actually planning for my third trip back during CNY...muahahaha. Yup, I may be going home for Chinese nian-15....hoho. Gong Xi Gong Xi to me.

Actually the main focus of this entry is not to be on the things I did for the past 2 weeks. Since I have had over-blah enough as my heading, I guess I'll leave it as a post anyway.

Well, that's my past 2 weeks afterall. I wonder how will my next 2 weeks be like.

Malaysia's Space Programme? WTH is that?

Ok...this is fair enough for Malaysia to be proud for having the first Angkasawan and starting our baby-space-race.

But really, should we enjoy all this glorious moment?

In our small small Malaysia, with the general public views and world critics about us being censored by our nice elected and beloved Government, all we see and awared of is restricted to the Government's propaganda.

Sorry to say that lar...but it's kinda true sometimes if you read what the world has said about our media in my previous entry.

Even NASA have their say about our Angkasawan, of which sadly, they refered to as...space participant, aka peserta angkasa.

It is kinda true enough. How could have we spend billions of Taxpayers' Ringgit and blast a handsome surgeon cum part-time model, whom never have any space engineering, nor not even at least aeronautic science background into space?

To me, he's kinda just like some winner whom we got from programmes like the Survivor or Apprentice.

Maybe it's not right for me to say so lar, cause I haven't do any research on the types of exam they have gone through to get into this space programme. But if it's really so, correct me please, somebody...I mean, if you have really follow up with their progress ALL the time.

As I know, these should be our Angkasawan's primary mission in space:

Cells in space – To study the effects of microgravity and space radiation on cancer cells with the aim of learning more about cell behaviour and activity, and tissue repair;
Microbes in space – To study the effects of microgravity and space radiation on bacterial growth, drug resistance and the genetic mechanisms controlling them; and
Protein crystallisation in space – To crystallise two proteins to study their molecular structures, and obtain new information for future industrial applications.

And....this is what we got as a result....

MOSCOW: With one day to his return to earth, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor has to do a lot of systematic packing of his cargo besides terminating the last three experiments.
He gets to bring back just 7kg of load that includes six experiment kits, a kit containing 14 symbolic items, videotapes and camera flash card as well as 200g of his personal items.

Hari Raya

Hari Raya falls on tomorrow, 13 October 2007. Malaysians will be having their holidays. Some even started their holidays today until next Tuesday.

But us in Vientiane, Laos have no holidays at eventhough we are in the Malaysian company here.

Anyway, being registered to the embassy here actually got our benefits.

Yes, we get invited by the embassy for lunch or hi-tea for all national-level events, such as the Yang-Pertuan-Agong's birthday, Merdeka Day, and this coming Hari Raya.

Yet, all these gatherings are held in the hi-class hotels. Yes, expensive too. We get to eat the long-misses Malaysian food, meet some of the Malaysians here, can see leng-lui also....etc.

Best of all, not even 0.05% (based on my own estimate...hehe) of the 26 millions Malaysian can have this kind of experience in their whole life time. So what can I say? Working oversea far from home may not be that bad afterall.

But still, I miss home.....and I miss my piggy. Selamat Hari Raya and Happy Holidayz....hoho~

My wind-water seat in the office...

I used to have got one of the best feng shui in the office. Behind me is a never-opened roller-shutter. So nobody can actually see what I was up to during work.....yea, something like blogging now.

Then a couple weeks ago the HR manager decided to hang a white board behind my table.

This board is actually to monitor the movement of the site people to Vientiane. Yes, they don't get to come down here anytime and without permission. So this board serves the purpose of detemine who's illegal and who's not.

Anyway, that's not the point. The point is.....it spoiled my whole darn feng shui. It's reflective. So anyone can actually see what I'm doing if they look properly from the right angle. ~CRAP~

But...if not mistaken, it has being here for 2 or 3 weeks already. And I kinda got used to it already and not bother about it anyway.

Somehow, this darn board can be not that bad at all. When we are bored, this is what can be done....

It's a Saturday night again. It's either a stay-up-till-wee-hours night watching the damn boring motion box, or occassion once-in-a-while clubbing. But the past two Saturdays were having BBQ and gathering with colleagues. It has being raining for the past 3 days in Vientiane. Tonight is no exception. Besides feeling cold, the night is long...and slow for me. It's 10 minutes to 3am now. Laying on the bed, I'm kinda awake blogging through my phone. No, it's not that something is bothering that keeps me awake. But..I'm seeing rainbow. Yes, rainbow in the middle of the dark, rainy night. Weird, right? I'm wondering too. No matter what I did, where I went, I see the rainbow everywhere. They were in the living room. They were in the kitchen. Now in my bedroom, I'm still seeing them. One thing I am assured, this rainbow is not superstition, but the way I see it, it's the Rainbow of L~O~V~E. And it's painting colours in my life now. Long and slow night? I'm appreciating and enjoying every minute and every second of it. Good night, peepz. Good night, world ~Yosh~

This is one excellent entry from KennySia. This is a heart-warming post and I'm actually touched. His entry has actually linked to what I have in mind for quite some time. There are so many expensive things in the world that everyone wish to have. But the poorer parts of the world may have not even seen or touch one. Some may not even know about the existance of these luxuries. "Being affording" is just a lame excuse. Treat ourselves once in a while in dinners, clothes, gadget, etc. is ok, but why do we have to go for the best and latest, yet expensive almost every month, if not everyday, all the time? Appreciate whatever we have, not the materials we owned that nobody else do. We may be richer than many people, many countries, but lets make our money worth while. Lets be reminded that whatever we have now is more than enough than those who never have. We don't have to go for the latest and the best to make our happy life. Look at Ha, the little country girl in KennySia's blog. She doesn't have anything more than just a torned shelther that provide her comfort and safety. But she's cheerful. Can we be like her? Some of us may say we rather die than to live in that kind of life. If we can stop being materialised for a while, I'm sure everyone can live a happier life. Lets lend a hand to those in need rather than getting more and more luxuries for ourselves. Lets make somebody's day a happy and healthier day rather than just for our own sake. ~CheeRz~ ps. Froggie....

It has accompany me to many trips and holidays.

It was with me since my days back in UTAR.

High and low, it was there with me.

North, south, east, west...it was there by my side.

On 21 September 2007 as I was cycling back home after dinner at around 7pm (+7 GMT), I got a sudden feel that my froggie is gone. I've been hanging it by the side of my bag all the time. As I tried to reach for it, it really wasn't there. OMG...I must have dropped it somewhere, in the street of Vientiane.

I've actually developed some "gan qing" with this froggie. It's something I really appreciate. But I've somehow lost it unintentioanlly. Some say,

"what's yours will be yours forever, what's not will
never be..."

At some point I totally disagree to this statement. What is not yours, then you should go after it to make it yours. That's what we call dreams, right? We come to the world with nothing, but we work to get them, to make them ours. On matters like this, I think we have choices. It's whether we want, or we don't want, whether we give outselves the chance, or we don't. After I lost froggie, I guess I did have the choice to go back to search for it. But I chose not to. Cause I'm looking forward....to get home, ok? That time was pretty dark already....haha. Siao meh?

Oh well, I guess it's time to let it go. Life moves on right? Today I lost my froggie. Maybe tomorrow I'll get this piggy home....

First time ever in Laos for the past 5 months.......

... and I finally got to lay my hands on the steering wheel of this babe.

Yes, it's a Toyota Prado.

Hey, I don't mean just just sit on the driver seat ok. I mean, I actually got to drive it last Saturday...muahahaha.

As I know, Prado is not really available in Malaysia market. Those 1 or 2 you see in the streets, are specially ordered and imported.

Heck...call me a sakai or whatever you like, but for the first time ever I got to drive this around RM300k baby.

Ok, I admit. I don't have a driving liciense here. I was driving it illegally and by circumstances I had to. But...who cares? The point is I got to drive at oversea...left-handed driving some more...hehe.

My next target...

My New Blogging Nest

Having an account here for more than a year, I haven't really utilize it.

I've been using Blogs.Friendster to blog about my feelings, things I think/thought about, things happen around, things I saw, things I expereinced, etc.

Somehow I guess blogging is a "thing" for me. It's not because it's the latest trend or anything "ing" for the generation to follow suit. But for me, this is where I can express myself freely, talk anything I want, blah anything I want, curse anything I want.

And of course, when I have the time to blog as well.

I have a sudden urge last few days, to switch from Friendster to back here. Maybe it's because of the editable Html whereas Friendster is not so friendly in Html editting afterall.

From now on, I will be making here as my primary blog nest rather than Friendster. What I will do is link what I've said here to there...only if I've got the time, of course. One thing I'll miss from Friendster, is its "strikethrough" function. I've got so hooked up using it recently.

I'm not going to widely promote about my blog here. It's just a place for me to express myself, be myself afterall.

Let's boycott the clinic at desa wangsa (Forwarded) A first year student fromTARC has been killed in taman desa setapak after being robbed by 2 robbers. The unlucky guy is being stabbed at the back and slashed on his hand. He died at the scene before the ambulans send him to hospital. i noe every1 juz read this shocking news this few days, and perhaps all of us is upset for this. but, u noe wat? this poor kid IS POSSIBLE TO BEEN RESCUED! Actually, that day i m eating at desa wangsa maju. Around that hour, someone had come to the clinic beside the restaurant wang quan to ask for emergency rescue. he said that they had call the ambulance and ONLY asking the doctor on duty to go to to the murder place to stop the bleeding.it is just a small things rite? but guess what the doctor say? "I M VERY BUSY NOW. IT IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS. IF U WAN ME TO HELP THE BOY, ASK HIM COME HERE AND I WILL HELP HIM." what the hell!!!!! is it a phrases come out from dctor?? u expect someone been slashed and lie only at roadside 100m away to CLIMB to ya clinic to been rescued?? U ARE NOT YET A DOCTOR, EVEN A HUMAN! FOR GOD SAKE! i though it juz some hooligan fighting case around there until i realise how big deal is the matter when i read the newspaper on Saturday. i m shame on him. GUYS AND GALS, REMEMBER, BOYCOTT THE CLINIC AT DESA WANGSA MAJU. THEY REFUSE TO HELP A BOY FROM DYING. AND THE BOY IS 11A STUDENT STUDY IN TARC ACCOUNTING.Plz and forward. thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Say: The boy really would still be living today if his last few minutes were treasured and some help were attended to him. And yes, I've heard about the clinic case myself. But not in that detailed. After reading this, I don't think someone may want to boycott the clinic for no purpose. By the way from what I heard, it's not the clinic right beside Ban Chuan only, but another clinic at the upper row of shop near 7-11 there too. The clinics are to be blamed. The doctors failed to carry out their duties, which is to save, rather than asked the victim to come to them, and then over-charging them. However, there is one issue I must raise too. I also heard that, while the boy was still living, being able to call for help and to call his dad, there were a number of neighbours around. But how come no one try to go to him, stop his bleeding and bring him to the hospital instead of leaving him there alone? This is very sad to think about. I can understand that, without the knowledge in first-aiding, some may be unsure what to do, or afraid of causing much more injury to the victim. But at least, couldn't anyone nearby just go to him and try to stop his bleeding? Or why couldn't the neighbours with cars send him to the hospital or (at least la) the clinics in Desa Setapak outside, instead of waiting for the ambulance to arrive? Yes, you may get the blood onto your seats. But to the clinics outside, it takes not more than 2 minutes to go by car. This sudden case gives great impact to everyone, not only around Wangsa Maju, but everyone in the whole country. But from this incident, I also get to know that, when you are in need of help, everyone can really be extremely selfish. Everyone can be very inconsiderate. Can the society be in your needs when you want them to be? Are they reliable? Are we really that united? God knows......

KUALA LUMPUR: A college student died after being stabbed in the head and hand in Wangsa Maju here last night. Lee Khian Yip, 18, of Tunku Abdul Rahman College, was attacked by two men who approached him on a motorcycle as he and a friend were walking back to their hostel in TAR Villa. Sentul police chief Asst Comm Mohd Rodzi Ismail said the murder happened at 8.35pm after the two students had had their dinner at a nearby food stall. Police believed it was a robbery that went wrong as the victim's wallet was missing although his handphone was not taken, ACP Mohd Rodzi told reporters at the scene. According to Khian Yip's friend, said ACP Mohd Rodzi, although the victim was bleeding profusely, he managed to call his mother at the family home in Ipoh before he died. The body of the first-year accountancy student was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital. ACP Mohd Rodzi urged those with information on the incident to contact the nearest police station. – Bernama ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear friends, if you are living nearby, be it in Desa Setapak (the 3-storey terrace houses beside the Wangsa Maju LRT Station), or TAR Villa, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....never walk alone the side road along the houses and the LRT route from the LRT station to TAR Villa. If you must, use the main road under the LRT instead. For those staying in the inner side of Desa Setapak, use the main road along the terrace houses inside. And do keep in mind that always be alert, and walk in the opposite direction of the road. At least you can see who's coming towards you, and you get the time to evade if you hear bikes coming. It's not the safest though. KL's safety sux anyway. Do be careful wherever you are. Terence ps. Oh well.... I started blogging in friendster. Blogging in friendster is great. But it kinda attracts too much attention. So, while searching for the best blog sites, I've landed myself in MySpace and Tripod. I don't like the settings in MySpace. It looks messy for me. I'm actually trying out Tripod (http://verdoce.tripod.com/blog/). It's cool. But along the way I realise that it's probably not as cool as I thought. It's quite slow in logging, which it sux badly.
